{"id":1884,"date":"2025-09-26T15:09:24","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T13:09:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/commonsensealigners.com\/?p=1884"},"modified":"2025-09-26T15:10:50","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T13:10:50","slug":"que-material-es-mejor-para-los-retenedores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/commonsensealigners.com\/en\/que-material-es-mejor-para-los-retenedores\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00bfQu\u00e9 material es mejor para los retenedores?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Uno de los aspectos mencionados en nuestro reciente&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/commonsensealigners.com\/en\/product\/retencion-en-ortodoncia\/\">libro sobre retenci\u00f3n en ortodoncia<\/a>&nbsp;es el uso de uno u otro material para los retenedores termopl\u00e1sticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoy revisamos un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajodo.org\/action\/showPdf?pii=S0889-5406%2825%2900339-7\">art\u00edculo<\/a> que aborda este tema, comparando dos de los materiales que m\u00e1s extendidos est\u00e1n: Zendura y Essix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El art\u00edculo aborda adem\u00e1s la precisi\u00f3n de diferentes esc\u00e1neres, encontrando en los modelos comparados que no hay diferencias estad\u00edsticamente significativas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esto es bueno, indicativo de que para una funci\u00f3n preventiva como es la retenci\u00f3n, la precisi\u00f3n de la mayor\u00eda de los modelos de esc\u00e1neres disponibles es suficiente (si bien sabemos que para movimientos activos algunos no lo son).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por otro lado, entra a comparar la precisi\u00f3n de Essix (muy utilizado en cl\u00ednicas y laboratorios para fabricaci\u00f3n directa) y Zendura (el que emplean marcas como Spark y Angel Aligner).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En este sentido, encontramos que&nbsp;<strong>Zendura es menos preciso y ofrece menos ajuste que Essix<\/strong>, de manera que las cl\u00ednicas que utilicen este \u00faltimo pueden estar tranquilas de que el material empleado es adecuado, si bien deben tenerse en cuenta aspectos como la t\u00e9cnica de fabricaci\u00f3n y la tecnolog\u00eda empleada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/commonsensealigners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Micro-computed-tomography-assessment-of-regional-and-overall-accuracy-of-thermoformed-retainers-and-intraoral-scanners.tiff\" alt=\"Digital superimposition in CloudCompare software (EDF R&amp;D, Paris, France) betweenscans captured by different scanners and the GS (overall and by region); B, Digital superimpositionin CloudCompare software between retainer scans and the GS (overall and by region).\" class=\"wp-image-1885\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nuestra opini\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es muy interesante disponer de retenedores de fabricaci\u00f3n industrial por parte de los fabricantes de alineadores, ya que evita la distorsi\u00f3n de la fabricaci\u00f3n manual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, una vez se analizan los materiales, son necesarios nuevos estudios para valorar si el menor ajuste del material hace que la fabricaci\u00f3n industrial sea equiparable a la de la fabricaci\u00f3n en cl\u00ednica y no justifique los costes extra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es m\u00e1s, en el caso de los fabricantes que los ofrecen sin coste adicional, no ser\u00eda descabellado que el cl\u00ednico siga prefiriendo emplear otros pag\u00e1ndolos si eso ofrece mejor calidad final en la retenci\u00f3n.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uno de los aspectos mencionados en nuestro reciente&nbsp;libro sobre retenci\u00f3n en ortodoncia&nbsp;es el uso de uno u otro material para los retenedores termopl\u00e1sticos.
